Lamniformes — the songwriting project of multi-instrumentalist
Ian Cory — LP Sisyphean

The album's name was inspired by Albert Camus’ absurdist essay 'The Myth Of Sisyphus'. At its core the essay is man's futile search for meaning, unity, and clarity in the face of an unintelligible world devoid of God and eternal truths or values. There is an overall sense of gloom and circular motion meant to visually embody the struggle of Sisyphus who was condemned to repeat forever the same meaningless task of pushing a boulder up a mountain, only to see it roll down again.

"It’s a product of Chicago winters, conversations in the warm confines of a parked car, walks through snow back to the CTA, frozen breath on back porches, shrugging off the cold under yellow light." –Ian Cory
